WHY WE LOVE THE POLKA Lorna Brown - The Polka is universal in appeal. It's great fun to listen to, and it's a delight to watch the audience clap their hands, tap their feet, and mostly to smile. Anne Cave - I find myself singing the elegant polka melodies. Polka music becomes a natural part of one's life. Dr. John Cave - The Polkas are such happy music. I love the way the audience responds. Dr. Steve Etters - I had previously founded a brass quintet that played German/Bavarian folksongs, and I enjoyed the music. I always look forward to playing euphonium with an organized ensemble- specifically the POLKA DOTS, where the instrument actually "fits" acoustically. George Hill - I love to play the polka because it allows me to play happy music that gladdens peoples' hearts and awakens their feet. It is a 'participatory media in music' where all enjoy- players and audience. Foster Owen - Catchy rhythms, tuneful melodies and lots of interplay between the instruments- that's the story of the polka! It's exciting, energizing and fun to play.
